You understand by viewing the Community Thrive app that you will be introduced to information about improving mental health literacy for caregivers who provide care for an elderly family member with dementia in the Chinese language. Information in the app focuses on: 1) Normalizing caregiver stress and burnout through education on caregiver burnout and awareness of associated symptoms; 2) Increasing perceived social support and engagement in activities that can reduce stress; and 3) Helping individuals seek and access support resources in the San Francisco Bay Area. The App provides caregiver support through information, guidance and links to resources in 3 domains:

  1. Signs and Symptoms Awareness: Providing information and tools to develop greater self-awareness of burnout and compassion fatigue related to caregiving;
  2. Motivational Guidance: In the form of inspirational messages and stories as well as suggestions for self-care activities that help to normalize caregiver stressors; and
  3. Resource Sharing: Sharing of critical information and resources to support users who need access to behavioral health and social services, as well as caregiver training and education.

KCCEB values its clients, users and members (collectively ‘clients). Although it is necessary that we obtain accurate and current information about our clients in order to provide the highest level of service, we are dedicated to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of our clients’ information.

This privacy policy applies to current or former clients who register for one of our apps. Throughout the policy, we refer to information that personally identifies you or your accounts as "personal information."

By creating an account on our mobile app, you agree to the terms and conditions, thereby opting in to receive text messages from our platform. These messages will be sent via a third-party service provider named Twilio. Should you wish to opt out of receiving these messages in the future, you can do so by deleting your account through the profile section of the app. Please note that maintaining an active account necessitates consent to receive these text messages; failure to provide such consent will result in the inability to hold an active account. However, users can still access sections of the app that do not require account creation or login.

Information security
Because KCCEB is committed to the protection of your personal information and to protecting your privacy, only authorized KCCEB employees or agents will have access to your personal information. Customer account passwords are encrypted and not retrievable as clear text from our systems by anyone. All of our employees, affiliates and service providers are held to the highest standards of privacy and security.

Right to Terminate Use and have Information removed from Records Community Thrive app users may terminate their use of the Comunity Thrive app at any time and may at any time ask to have their information removed from KCCEB’s records by emailing KCCEB at general@kcceb.org. Furthermore, users have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulations, listed below.
